Andrey Rublev is aiming for a historic 500 triple in the Halle final.

A difficult task was to be expected for Andrey Rublev in the match against Robert Bautista Agut, the seventh in the world rankings was only just 5:4 ahead in a direct comparison before the match.

Rublev dominated from the start with his hard groundstrokes and was able to take the serve from his Spanish counterpart to 15 in the third game. Bautista Agut kept trying to slow down the rallies and throw 25-year-old Rublev out of rhythm. With another break, the native of Moscow secured the first round.

In the second act, Rublev started with a quick 2-0 lead, but immediately suffered the re-break and the tie. In the final phase of the second round, Rublev showed patience and strong nerves and, after winning two games in a row, won 6:3, 6:4 after 1:41 hours of play.

In the final, Rublev faces Kazakh Alexander Bublik, who was able to prevent Alexander Zverev from entering the third final at the grass tournament in Halle with a 6: 3, 7: 5 win. In tomorrow’s final, Rublev has the chance to be the first player in history to win an ATP 500 tournament on grass, hard court and sand.
