Andre Drummond Exercises Player Option to Stay with the Chicago Bulls for Another Year

Andre Drummond will continue for another year with the Bulls. As Adrian Wojnarowski assures, the center has taken advantage of the player option that allows him to continue being part of the Chicago squad in exchange for 3.4 million dollars, making the Illinois team the first team in which he passes more than a season since leaving Detroit in 2020.

The latest rumors suggested that the center was most likely to reject this player option, and journalists like Marc Stein even linked him with the Dallas Mavericks, but he has finally decided to take another course. The decision may have been due to financial reasons, as in recent years he has had trouble finding lucrative contracts and may have come to the conclusion that no one was going to exceed the aforementioned 3.4 million.

And it is that, with 6 points and 6.6 rebounds in 12 minutes, his role as substitute center in the Bulls has not been to shoot rockets and at this point nobody expects a great performance from him anymore. Even in his years of great numbers with the Pistons, these did not end up translating into a real impact, which does not mean that he is nevertheless an excellent rebounder who, in that matter, is still capable of adding. But aside from that, he comes from a year in which, with exceptions, his contribution has been rather scarce.
