Anadolu Efes announced that they parted ways with captain Doğuş Balbay.
Anadolu Efes’ squad planning continues in line with the next season. Having parted ways with Chris Singleton, Egehan Arna, Furkan Haltalı and Buğrahan Tuncer until now, Doğuş Balbay was the latest addition to this list in Efes.
The club said goodbye to its captain with a statement made on its official social media account, and used the following statements:
“As a very young athlete, you leave this club as a legendary Captain. We would like to thank you for all your efforts and all the values you have instilled in the youth, and we bid you farewell with the pride of the dozens of trophies you have lifted.”
The 34-year-old player has been playing for Anadolu Efes for 12 years. The experienced name returned to Turkey after graduating from college in 2011 and signed with Efes. Since then, Doğuş has risen to the captainship of the team he has been in, and is a part of the most glorious days of the club’s history.
