A difficult week for the Royal Chevrolet of Repentigny

On Sunday, May 28, the ABC 16U team played its first game in the Brulotte circuit and they did well by winning by a score of 8 to 5 against the Royal Chevrolet of Repentigny.

Although Repentigny had the lead until the very end, the young prospects of the ABC opened the machine in the seventh by scoring four points.

The Royal Chevrolet of Repentigny led 7 to 4 at the end of the sixth inning over the Montreal Orioles, before they completed a late comeback to finally win 8 to 7, Thursday night, at Gary-Carter Stadium.

At the end of the sixth, Yohan Quintal first narrowed the gap to two points with a sacrifice ball. Then, on their last at bat in the seventh, the Orioles took advantage of an Anthony Lucas option and a Steven Bonilla-Montoya double to tie the game 7-7 and force an eighth inning.

And after stopping the Royal from scoring in the top of the eighth, Montreal solidified their comeback once at bat. Emric Ferland took advantage of an error by the Royal’s pitcher to go to first base when the bases were loaded, which allowed Guillaume Dugas to cross home plate.

Anthony Lucas previously hit a three-run homer in the first inning for the Orioles, ending his night with four RBIs. On the Repentigny side, we note three hits and two RBIs for Adam Meilleur.

Louis-Maxime Morin (1-0), relieved as fourth pitcher of the game for the Orioles, got the victory by brilliantly pitching two and a third innings, allowing only one hit and striking out five batters of three strikes.
