11. VI exhibition of works by Karina and Arta Volbet “Island root” in the Daugava Museum

From June 11, the Daugava Museum on Dole Island will host an exhibition of works of art by two sisters, Karina Volbet and Arta Volbet, called “The Root of the Island”. The works of the sisters tell about life in a nature park, the overgrowth of the Daugava, neighborly relations and childhood, growing up on a unique island. The exhibition will be on display in the Daugava Museum’s exhibition rooms throughout the summer, allowing visitors not only to get acquainted with the work of the artists and their outlook on life, but also to actively or passively get involved, reflecting on their childhood adventures and impressions in their special place.

Karīna Volbet received a bachelor’s degree from the Latvian Academy of Arts. Creates illustrations for children’s books, games, and visual design for various events. Arta Volbet received a bachelor’s degree from the Latvian Academy of Arts. The artist mainly works in etching and aquatint techniques.
