Bastian Schweinsteiger accompanied the cup evening in the first as an expert on Wednesday. He thanked ARD presenter Esther Sedlaczek.

Nevertheless, Hoeneß and Schweinsteiger never crossed paths on Säbener Straße. “You never met at FC Bayern, right?” Sedlaczek wanted to know. “Right, and you’ve brought us together now,” Schweini thanked politely with a wink.

When Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche and Schweinsteiger were still discussing intensively while the TV cameras were aimed at both before kick-off, the ARD presenter naturally wanted to know the topic. “Did we forget…” Schweinsteiger lied without blushing.

Whether it’s about a possible transfer from Randal Kolo Muani to FC Bayern? Pure speculation. The Eintracht striker has long been on the list of record champions, who are looking for a new attacker of international stature from the summer.
