Who will complete the national team after the end of Chytil and Sedlák? A Boston player is claiming a chance

The management of the Czech national hockey team officially confirmed on Friday that Filip Chytil and Lukáš Sedlák had to leave the national team due to injuries. Martin Havlát has already confirmed one substitute, he is Radan Lenc. The second name remains uncertain. Radim Zohorn is the closest to participating in the tournament, but Boston Bruins forward Jakub Lauko has most likely also applied for his place on social networks.

The situation of the Czech national team at the World Cup has become very complicated. Coach Kari Jalonen already lost two big attacking stars during the matches in the basic group, without whom the chance for a valuable metal diminished.

The general manager of the national team, Martin Havlát, confirmed that one of the substitutes will be the Swedish HV71 striker Radan Lenc. On Friday evening, he wants to call Radim Zohorna, whom he prefers for the vacant position. However, Boston player Jakub Lauko would probably also play in Riga and Tampere.

From the comments under the post, it is clear that even the fans want Lauko to join the Czech team. “You should have been there a long time ago,” one fan wrote. “Your energy is exactly what this team needs. But they’d rather call Lence and Zohorna,” added another.

Jakub Lauko played in 23 games for Boston this season and scored four goals and assisted on the other three. He played the next 35 games in the AHL for the Providence Bruins.

This is how Jakub Lauko scored his first goal in the NHL:
