Van Hecke and Veltman keep champion City under control with flashy Brighton

In a 90-minute football commercial, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City drew 1-1 in the Premier League.

For Brighton, the point was enough for a ticket for the preliminary round of the Europa League. City recently managed to secure the national title, but still took office almost at full war strength.

Both teams played a great game, especially in the first half. The youthful Brighton combined as smoothly and easily as the champion and both teams rained the chances together.

At Brighton, Jan Paul van Hecke had a base place for the third time. The former defender of NAC Breda and sc Heerenveen played a great game, but failed to clear a bet from Phil Foden in the 25th minute.

Moments later, 19-year-old Julio Enciso equalized, with a beautiful 25-yard swing into the top corner. Only after an hour of play did the pace drop, but the game remained well maintained.

In the last fifteen minutes, former Ajax player Joël Veltman also came in for the home team. Erling Haaland thought he would score his 37th Premier League goal of the season, but the goal was disallowed on the advice of the VAR because the Norwegian had held his opponent before he hit the target.

Brighton, which will make its debut in Europe next season, made a total of twenty goal attempts against the national champion. Only Wolverhampton Wanderers scored so many goal attempts against coach Pep Guardiola’s City in 2019. City got stuck against Brighton on thirteen goal attempts.
