The Monster Cal Raleigh Mariners lead the Red Sox 10-1

Like many people over the past month, I’ve been intrigued by the new video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (No spoilers, I promise). Like anyone who switches leisure time quickly between video games and baseball, my brain sometimes has a hard time adjusting. It doesn’t help that the video game’s protagonist and this game’s protagonist have the same name: Cal.

I’m looking for a way to use this image again

Just as Cal Kestis from Star Wars is waging a personal war against the Galactic Empire, tonight Cal Raleigh is waging a personal war against it Boston Red Sox. And just like the Jedi, we’ve both performed supernatural feats.

First behind the plate. The position of the catcher is characterized by leadership, calm and concentration. Since the catcher is the only player looking forward, it is up to him to direct the game. Cal excelled on defense today, catching hot George Kirby and making lots of blocks (despite his above-average stat block). Additionally, he managed this throw with a pop time of 1.91 seconds:

In this passage you may notice that sailors have two barrels. Do you want to know how they got it?

First off, Eugenio decides to start with this and it’s nice to see him push his bachelor’s degree a little further. Then, as our hero entered the box, he concluded that a fan in left field deserved a keepsake.

Cal Raleigh comes down to take the field and sends it 430 feet down the left field line? Where have you seen this before?

France mutated A double and a throw error followed Julio’s walk to Jared for an RBI big shot, but he could only put the ball in play for the scoring fielder. But that’s ok. Jared has been hero enough this year, and tonight it’s someone else’s turn. Speaking of which, we have another superhero act to cover.

That’s right, Cal Raleigh literally hit a baseball out of the park. from the right side of the panel. Statcast sort of accurately got the numbers in the Big Dump, but I find it sacrilegious to accept such hits, so I dare not slander and share them. Suffice it to say, at that moment Cal became the first catcher in Fenway Park’s 112-year history to score runs from both sides of the plate.

But two home runs, while impressive, don’t result in a 10-1 win. One of the topics of the previous topic Star Wars: Jedi The video game was about finding a family during a difficult time. As I’ve explained in previous recaps, the Mariners didn’t typically feel as together this year as they did in the second half of last year, and they didn’t play together as a team. In their last 20 losses, the Mariners have been less of a team and more of a personnel group. And as much as the scientist in me wants a bigger sample, I think those days are over.

We could easily add other Mariners heroes to the ship’s crew at night gotte san beterin which the other Cal lives on.

The lovable Eugenio Suarez, the heart and soul of the team, is easy to compare to the lovable villain Grizzly Dritos.

Though Eugenio’s “just good vibes” approach to baseball has reinvigorated the Mariners in recent years, four-armed Glup Shitto keeps his diehard family together with a good sense of humor and adept flying. Speaking of flying, Eugenio decides to join Cal and send a ball into space himself.

We only mentioned George Kirby briefly tonight, and while he was very surly in the postgame interview, George threw his 7th straight start, went 6 and 2 3 ⁄ 3 innings and gave up just one run while scoring 6 strikeouts, including a Claw hit by Connor Wong ends the night, George. Talent and tough character? This is Nightsister Merrin, baby.

The night’s offensive tackle included Tyler Saucedo, who hasn’t given up on his major league success. Tyler showed the day in two ways, both with the shooting and with a sort of pitcher attitude. He moved his sinker all over the place, creating touches of slider and dunk while stealing hits with his curveball and changeup. Young and brave, but able to throw perfectly in every situation? To me it looks like BD-1, Cal’s loyal robot friend.

Tonight’s game was one of the first games this year where it really felt like the Mariners were sticking together on all fronts: offense, pitching and defense. They strike together, work hard on the bats, and feed off each other’s energy. In short, they were a crew.

That’s what seafarers need to get ahead. Like trying to rebel against an empire of unimaginable size, playing an entire baseball season is daunting. No player can take sole responsibility for success. Giulio’s slump earlier in the season has been talked about a lot, but he appears to be recovering lately, reaching 1-4 with walks tonight. It’s not much, but it’s always good to get hit and anything that helps him find his rhythm is good. But the solution could lie elsewhere.

By relying on one another and trusting those around them, seafarers can learn the same lesson both fictional and historical revolutionaries have always learned: by working together, people can do things once thought impossible, and overcome any obstacle eliminate what stands in their way. And whether we’re fighting the Red Sox or the Empire, we can always count on Cal to guide us.
