Bonn – It’s “Playoffs Baby!” And as the newly crowned Champions League winners, they have Telekom Baskets Bonn only one goal: now also get the championship title of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL).
With a perfect starting position, the first game against the NINERS from Chemnitz will take place in front of a home crowd on Wednesday (May 17th).

As BBL leaders, Telekom Baskets Bonn are heading into the BBL Playoffs 2023 with a tailwind.
The team is born for moments like these: They are “BONN TO BE WILD”!
Tip-off for the first game of the quarter-finals is on Wednesday (May 17) at 7 p.m.
The opponents from Chemnitz should not be underestimated and will make it difficult for the baskets.

The 2023 BBL Playoffs Explained

In the Basketball Bundesliga, BBL for short, the top eight teams play in the “Best-Of-Five” format at the end of the regular season. 1st place competes against 8th, 2nd place against 7th, and so on.
Since the Basktes from Bonn finished first in the regular season, they were able to secure home field advantage in all three possible series (Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Finals).
This means that they have three possible home games per series in “best-of-five” mode. Whoever gets three wins in a playoff series first goes one round.
The last two teams then play in the grand final for the championship title.
The goal of Telekom Baskets Bonn is set and within reach!

A dream comes true for the Baskets! After beating Jerusalem in the final on Saturday (May 14), the boys from Bonn can officially call themselves the winners of the 2023 Champions League.
The Baskets thus win the first title in their club history and it was duly celebrated!
Now they are on the home straight for a double coup in a truly terrific season.
Because now the full focus is on the first playoff game against the NINERS Chemnitz.
