Swimming – labor court adjourns decision – sport

The Halle (Saale) labor court has adjourned the decision in the case of the water jump national coach Lutz Buschkow, who was fired without notice. The presiding judge Gabriele Firzlaff did not yet judge on Thursday whether the dismissal issued by the German Swimming Association (DSV) last October in the course of a case of abuse was legal or not. In addition to the complex situation, the reason for the postponement was the new documents submitted on the day of the hearing. After reviewing the minutes of the hearing and consulting with the honorary judges, a decision is to be announced. In August of last year, former world-class water jumper Jan Hempel made the allegations of sexualized abuse against his long-time coach Werner Langer, who died in 2001, public for the first time in an ARD documentary entitled “Abused – Sexualized Violence in German Swimming”.
