The Guangdong Public Security Men’s Team and the Guangxi Public Security Women’s Team won the Men’s , women’s team champion, Hunan Public Security Men’s Team and Guangdong Public Security Women’s Team won the runner-up.
The competition is sponsored by the State Sports General Administration, organized by the China Badminton Association, Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by Henan Badminton Association, Zhengzhou Airport Economic Comprehensive Experimental Zone Management Committee, and Zhengzhou Sports Bureau. The competition system is a team competition. There are two groups of men and women. Each team must be composed of doubles teams in three age groups: 25-34 years old, 35-44 years old, and 45-60 years old. There are a total of public security teams from 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. 337 athletes participated.
This is the first time that the National Games has set up a competition event for the public security police team in mass events. The participating public security police officers also worked hard and showed their “police color” during the 4-day competition.
Sun Qinglin, a 59-year-old veteran with 38 years of ball experience, is the oldest member of the Henan Public Security Team. As the “big brother”, he not only trains hard every day, but also cooperates with the team leader to organize teaching competitions many times, becoming a role model for the players. Although the men’s and women’s teams of Henan Public Security failed to advance to the quarter-finals, they never gave up even when the score fell behind, and they always maintained the belief of striving for victory with all their strength. The team members said: “Although we failed to reach the top eight this time, we have accumulated experience through the competition and found shortcomings. After returning home, we will train hard and strive for better results in the next National Games.”
Wan Shaojue and Huang Fangying of the Guangdong Public Security Women’s Team, who won the runner-up of the women’s team, said: “I think the competition can not only enhance their physical fitness, but also inspire our policemen to maintain the spirit of never giving up in public security work and better serve struggle for public security.”
This is also the second time that Zhengzhou has hosted the National Games badminton event after the 14th National Games badminton event qualification.

Li Siying and Wang Siyan of the Guangxi Public Security Team who won the championship of the women’s team said: “I came to Zhengzhou for the first time, and I felt that the city was very clean and tidy. Li Zhonglan and Lu Songyi, who used to serve in international competitions, are from Henan Lizhiyuan (Li Ning) threader team. During the game, the two provided threading services for the players on the spot.
