Second win against Bayern Munich! Ulm before the final

Ratiopharm Ulm is about to make the surprising entry into the final of the BBL. Coach Anton Gavel’s team also won game two of the semi-final play-offs at cup winners Bayern Munich 93:88 (44:39) and only needs one more success to participate in the final series.

The Ulm team will have their first match point on Friday (7 p.m./Magenta Sport) in front of their home crowd.

“We made it unnecessarily exciting,” said Gavel at the microphone after the game MagentaSport: “In the end there is victory, that’s what counts. Nevertheless, it has to get better.”

The best thrower for the quarter-final conqueror of champion Alba Berlin was the Brazilian Yago Dos Santos with 21 points. The outstanding 34 points from national player Andreas Obst were not enough for the disappointing Munich team. In the second semi-final, Champions League winners Telekom Baskets Bonn led 1-0 against MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg.

Ulm initially dominated the game and went into the last quarter with a 15-point lead. But then the hosts turned up the heat and came within three points. In a nervous final phase, Ulm saved the lead over time.
