Sebastian Ofner masters the first qualifying hurdle at the French Open

From an Austrian point of view, the qualification for the French Open, which begins on Sunday, will start as desired.

Sebastian Ofner wins the qualifying start against the Japanese Rio Noguchi (ATP-205.) after 1:27 hours with 7: 6 (0), 6: 4 and is in the second round.

Ofner has to accept a break to zero in the second service game, but gets the re-break directly. In the tie-break, the Styrian dominates and does not lose a single point. In the second round, Ofner has to give up his serve twice, but he can break the Japanese himself three times.

In the second of the three qualifying rounds, Briton Jan Choinski (ATP-177.) is waiting, who benefited from a task from his opponent Nicolas Kicker at the start.

Three more Austrians in the second round

Already on Monday, Jurij Rodionov in two sets and Dennis Novak and Filip Misolic each in three sets took their first hurdles in Paris. In the second round there is a direct duel between Novak and Rodionov. Maximilian Neuchrist and Sinja Kraus among the women, on the other hand, had to give up early.

Dominic Thiem and Julia Grabher are already in the main competition. The draw for the second Grand Slam tournament of the year will take place on Thursday.
