Roma: Abraham ‘two finals in two years, it’s extraordinary’ – Calcio

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 25 – “I’m confident about the final, we want to play it and to do well we have to face it all together. But already playing two finals in two years is an extraordinary result, I’m proud of it. The Europa League it’s an important competition, a one-off match in which we have to leave everything behind.” So Tammy Abraham spoke at the UEFA media day in Trigoria in view of the final in Budapest. To those who ask him if he’s scared of staying out of the Champions League without a win in the Europa League, he replies: “Personally, I’ve never been scared. I’ve already played in several finals and we have to be positive and give our all, thinking back to the journey we made to reach the our goal”. Then a joke about his future which “won’t depend on the Europa League”, while looking at the current season he adds: “As a forward, the goal is to score, but in the end it’s about lifting the trophies”. Finally, on what has changed compared to last year, he concludes: “Perhaps the style of play and some players, what hasn’t changed is that we defend as a team in a compact way. For a striker, perhaps it’s not the best because he would rather score the goal. but I’m ready to sacrifice myself for the team.” (HANDLE).
