PBSI Withdraws Shesar Hiren Rhustavito from the 2023 SEA Games due to injury

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian badminton men’s singles athlete Shesar Hiren Rhustavito certainly absent from defending the Indonesian national team at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia. PBSI withdrew Shesar’s participation due to injury.

This was stated by the Head of Development and Achievement Division of PP PBSI, Rionny Mainaky, on Friday, 5 May 2023. “We canceled Vito’s participation because in the last training session (Thursday, 4 May 2023) he injured his left calf,” he was quoted as saying. from the official statement of PP PBSI.

“Yesterday it was immediately followed up with a referral to the hospital and an MRI. The results will only be seen today. Hopefully it’s not serious but indeed competing in the SEA Games is not possible,” said Rionny added.

With the absence of Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, the Indonesian badminton team only sent three representatives in the men’s singles sector, namely Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Christian Adinata and Alwi Farhan. Rionny admitted that Vito’s absence had reduced the team’s strength.

However, according to him, it does not mean that the best results cannot be achieved. Rionny was also sure that the three Indonesian men’s doubles who departed could show maximum performance because they were in the best condition.

PP PBSI sent a total of 19 athletes to compete in the SEA Games 2023 Cambodia with details of 3 men’s singles, 4 women’s singles, and two representatives each in the men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles sectors.
