NHL veterans Lucic and Tofoli will help the Canadian national team in the World Cup in Riga / Diena

Only one of the 20 players named so far does not represent National Hockey League (NHL) teams.

The World Championship, which will be jointly hosted by the Finnish city of Tampere and Riga, will take place from May 12 to 28.

One group match will take place in Riga, where Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Slovenia will compete, as well as two quarter-final matches. The Latvian national team will play the first match on May 12 directly against the Canadians.

For Canada, head coach Andre Turigny will be assisted by Ryan Troy, Dennis Smith, Alex Tanguay, goaltending coach Justin Pogier and video coach James Emery.
