The B League/B2 basketball playoff finals will be held in Shiga Prefecture from May 18th (Saturday). Koshigaya Alphas (2nd place in the East region) and Shiga Lakes (1st place in the West region) will face off after advancing through the eight-team playoff tournament. Both teams have already decided to be promoted to B1. Teams from Saitama Prefecture and Shiga Prefecture, which were the setting for the movie “Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with Love~”, will be seen together.
Both prefectures will be working on the “Saitama Prefecture x Shiga Prefecture Collaboration” project at the venue of this final match. Please pay attention to the collaboration between the two prefectures off the court, such as messages of support from the governors of both prefectures and PR booths set up by both prefectures.

2. Collaboration details
(1) Screening of messages of support from the governors of both prefectures
The governors of Saitama Prefecture and Shiga Prefecture will send video messages expressing their expectations for the final match between both teams. It will be screened on a large screen in the main arena of the Shiga Daihatsu Arena.
(2) PR booth exhibition in both prefectures
Exhibition booths will be set up to promote Saitama and Shiga prefectures, and employees of both prefectures will promote their attractions (May 18th (Saturday) and 19th (Sunday)).

4. Collaboration between the two prefectures triggered by the movie “Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with Love~”
In December 2020, a paper debate was held at the Saitama Prefectural Office in the Saitama Prefectural Newsletter “Sainokuni Dayori” titled “Is it really ‘Da Saitama!? Isn’t it?” reported the results. After receiving the report, Saitama prefecture mascot “Kobaton” and Shiga prefecture image mascot “Uo-tan” declared that they would “promote each other’s prefectures” and implemented a collaborative project.

In the January issue of “Sainokuni Dayori”, provided by Shiga Prefecture, and in the January issue of Shiga Prefecture’s public relations magazine, “Shiga Plus One”, a giveaway project provided by Saitama Prefecture was carried out, promoting special products that the two prefectures are proud of.

A special page introducing the charms of the other prefecture, commonalities between the two prefectures, and interviews with couples from Saitama and Shiga prefectures is now available on the websites of both prefectures. Collaboration banners have been posted on the top pages of both prefectures (posting has ended).

“Kobaton” and “Uo-tan” interacted with X. The two talked while introducing the charms of both prefectures.
(4) Collaboration booth at the Prefectural Information Center
A collaboration booth between the two prefectures was opened in the Citizen Information Room of the Saitama Prefectural Office (installation completed).
