NBA: Lakers and Miami on track in conference semifinals

Lhe Lakers, against Golden State, and Miami, against New York, lead 3 to 1 and are only one success away from a place in the conference finals after Monday’s games in the NBA playoffs.

In the West, the Lakers defeated Golden State 104-101. The Warriors led 49-52 at the break and had a 7-point lead (77-84) at the start of the last quarter. The Lakers reversed the situation in the ‘money time’ thanks to Lonnie Walker IV, author of all his 15 points in the last quarter. LeBron James (27 points), Anthony Davis (23 points, 15 rebounds) and Austin Reaves (21 points) also contributed to the success of the Lakers. Opposite, Stephen Curry managed a triple-double with 31 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers, undefeated at home in these playoffs, will receive a first opportunity to finish the job on Wednesday in San Francisco. In front of their audience, the Warriors, defending champions, will have to win if they do not already want to abdicate.

In the East, Miami beat New York 109-101 after a perfectly controlled encounter. The Heat, who remained in control all game, relied on Jimmy Butler (27 points, 10 assists) and Bam Adebayo (23 points, 13 rebounds) to dominate the Knicks, where Jalen Brunson finished with 32 points and RJ Barrett with 24.

The series will continue on Wednesday in New York, where Miami will have a first “match point” to win its ticket to the conference final.
