Indonesian taekwondo athlete Megawati Tamesti Maheswari won a gold medal at SEA Games 2023Monday (15/5) evening.
Megawati’s success made the Taekwondo sport successful in presenting Indonesia with the 76th medal for the Women’s Kyorugi 53kg number.
“The 76th gold for Indonesia! Congratulations to Megawati Tamesti Maheswari from the Taekwondo branch for successfully presenting a gold medal for Indonesia in the Women’s Kyorugi 53Kg number,” said Megawati.
Megawati’s success in presenting the gold medal has kept Indonesia in third place in the 2023 SEA Games medal standings with 76 gold medals.
The top position in the 2023 SEA Games standings is still occupied by Vietnam, which has so far won 118 gold medals, 95 silver medals and 97 bronze medals.
Thailand took second place with 94 gold medals, 74 silver medals and 90 bronze medals.
Meanwhile, hosts Cambodia are in fourth place in the 2023 SEA Games standings with 66 gold medals, 65 silver medals and 111 bronze medals.
