Marnaval on all fronts

During the weekend of May 20 and 21, the Benjamins Grand Est championships took place, with six podiums for the Haut-Marnais, five Marnavalais and one for JC Saint-Dizier. Two Marnavalais, as cadets, are also in the Top 3.

The Haut-Marnais judokas were on all fronts on May 20 and 21. First of all, on Saturday May 20, in Pont-à-Mousson, the Grand Est regional championships for the youngest took place, which followed the inter-committee events of the Champagne basin. Haute-Marne had about twenty selected and six reached the podium including five Marnavalais and a judoka from JC Saint-Dizier. This competition is the last for this season for this age category and especially the highest level they can reach in this age category. These results prove once again the quality of teaching and the dynamism of the club and the departmental committees of the Grand Est, knowing that Haute-Marne is one of the smallest departments in the region.

In women, three Marnavalaises reached the podium: Liyah Atamna and Léna Valet finished second, Asna Haloui took the bronze medal and, at the foot of the podium, Pauline Collinet. Among the boys, there was a silver medal for Gustave Coquin, a bronze for Jérémie Bitsi, both from the Judo-Club Marnaval Saint-Dizier 52 and another bronze medal for Romain Chaperon from the Judo club Saint- Dizier. There was also a fifth place for Amine Tssioussa and Noah Job de Joinville. As part of the competition for young minimal officials, in the arbitration sector, two Marnavalais reach the podium: Hugo Beurville (2e) and Julie Amann (3e).

Two Marnavalais cadets on the podium in Ceyrat

Throughout the weekend, in Ceyrat, near Clermont-Ferrand, two national cadet competitions took place where about fifteen Haut-Marnais were also qualified following the inter-committees of the Champagne basin. Here again, Haute-Marne was very well represented by the Marnavalais, with two podiums. Valentine Lebel (-57 kg), Saturday, at the France 2 championshipse division, won a fine bronze medal. The next day, took place the championships of France reserved only for cadets 1re year and another bronze medal was won by the Marnavalais Cédric Multon Kandu M’pala, in +90 kg, from the Strasbourg hopefuls pole. Unfortunately, for weight reasons, he could not fight in his category, but he was able to make up for it by winning this podium. Two representatives of SLO Bettancourt were present in Ceyrat. Clément Rothfuss, in -81 kg, performs well with four fights including two victories. Clément is stopped in 16e final: a fine course, with no less than 80 participants in its category.

Nina Losa, in -48 kg, finished 5e on more than 60 fighters. On a big day, she lines up four victories in a row, before being stopped in the quarter-finals (no repechage in this championship). Nina was therefore missing a fight to get the podium… This superb performance rewards years of work within the club. Nina and Clément are cadets “2”. There will still be a good year of cadet next season to hope for even better.

Nina Losa (5th) and Clément Rothfuss, from Bettancourt, were in Ceyrat, for a national competition reserved for cadets.
