The managers of Alba Berlin and Bayern Munich, Marco Baldi and Marco Pešić, promote an upper limit of games in an interview. The unique intensity of the Euroleague should not be diluted.
This Friday (5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on MagentaSport) the final four of the Euroleague, the most important competition in European club basketball, begins in Kaunas. As always, no team from Germany is playing. Why?
Pešić: Because we probably weren’t good enough yet. We were already in the play-offs in 2021 and 2022 – we were just one win away from the Final Four. You also have to be a bit lucky.
Baldi: From an international perspective, German basketball is still in an earlier phase of its development. But we’re getting there. The national team shows that. The clubs will show that too.
