Last Saturday, the XogaJudo 2023 tournament was held at the Salceda de Caselas Sports Pavilion in Pontevedra, a regional competition that brought together hundreds of judokas from the youngest, juvenile and infant categories, that is, those born between the ages of years 2009 and 2015.
Organized by the Galician Federation, the event is called Xogos Galegos Deportivos and is part of the Xogade de la Xunta program. 34 young judokas from Ourense participated in it, representing the province under the tutelage of master Manuel Montero and directed on the tatami by masters Felipe Iglesias and Anita Fernández Morais.
The results were satisfactory for the people from Ourense who won 12 gold medals, 12 silver medals, 5 bronze medals and came close to the podium four times, only finishing fifth place once; Some brands that denote the quality of the Ourensan judo quarry.
