tvOnenews.com – The extra hard struggle to win the 2023 SEA Games gold medal was carried out by the Indonesian kickboxing athlete with the 63 kilogram kick light number, Abdul Aziz.
He claimed that while preparing for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, he had endured coughing up blood.
“I competed in a sick condition but in my mindset I have to try to win because I have been training for six months and I don’t want to lose either,” said Aziz when met by reporters after the completion of the SEA Games athlete reception at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Wednesday (17 /5) night.
The reason Aziz coughed up blood was because he couldn’t stand the cold while undergoing a training center in Krygyzstan for one month.
“That, I was preparing in Kyrgyzstan, it was too cold there, I got a lung infection because of the cold air. That’s when I coughed, the cough didn’t go away for more than two weeks,” said Aziz.
In the kickboxing final in kick light number 63 which was held at Elephant Hall 1 Morodok Techo National Stadium, Aziz managed to win a gold medal after defeating Vietnamese athlete, Hau Tran Minh.
