Keisuke Honda’s Eccentric Outfit Viral at the 2023 SEA Games

Cambodia national team coach Keisuke Honda viral on social media for wearing quirky clothes on SEA Games 2023.

So far, Honda has led the Cambodian squad in two Group A preliminary round matches. His status as a football legend from Japan is a special attraction.

Until now, there are no official regulations regarding how to dress coaches while on the sidelines. But usually, coaches wear formal suits in the form of suits. Many also use sports jackets and pants.

Several popular coaches, such as Pep Guardiola and Joachim Low, often wear shirts when accompanying their subordinates to matches. Keisuke Honda also chose to dress casually when he led the Cambodian squad, but the clothes of the former AC Milan player were much more quirky.

In the second match against the Philippines, Tuesday (2/5), the appearance of the 36-year-old tactician was again in the spotlight. A pink polo shirt with a yellow checkered pattern plus a blue collar is the choice. Blue jeans add to the relaxed impression of the Gamba Osaka dropout.

This provoked comments from netizens. Not a few netizens highlighted Honda’s clothes because they were considered unusual like most other trainers. One netizen said Honda was similar to the Shaggy Rogers character in the Scooby Doo cartoon. Shaggy’s light-colored clothes and baggy pants are considered to be Honda-like.

While other netizens recognize Honda’s style as neat and different. Appreciation goes to Honda’s choice of dressing.

One other netizen even hopes that Honda will train the U-19 Indonesian National Team because Shin Tae Yong will focus on handling the senior Indonesian National Team and the U-23 National Team.
