Jelena Rybakina (WTA 6) led 6: 4 and 1: 0 in the final in Rome before her opponent Anhelina Kalinina (WTA 47) had to give up in tears. Rybakina as a Grand Slam contender in Paris
For Rybakina, who reached the final of the Australian Open in January, it was her 5th career title and her 2nd of the year following her win over Aryna Sabalenka in Indian Wells. This makes her one of the favorites at the French Open, which begins on May 28th.
In the world rankings, 23-year-old Rybakina will move up to No. 4, her best-ever ranking.
