Doha (dpa) – Two judoka from the state of Brandenburg are in the 19-man squad of the German Judo Association (DJB) at the World Championships in Doha (Qatar) from May 6th to 14th. Maximilian Standke (21/KSC Asahi Spremberg) and Martin Setz (29/UJKC Potsdam) will start in the lower men’s weight classes up to 60 kg and up to 66 kg on Sunday and Monday.
The heavyweight Erik Abramov (23/UJKC Potsdam), who was originally nominated for the mixed team competition, is out due to injury. A total of nine men’s and eight women’s categories as well as the mixed team competition for the DJB active (9 women/10 men) are part of the World Cup program.
