Erling Haaland, one of the great figures of Manchester City, was voted player of the year in England by British journalists.

Among the more than 600 members of the Football Writers’ Association (FWA), the striker received 80% of the votes, a record since the award was created.

Saka and Odegaard, both from Arsenal, were second and third respectively. De Bruyne and Marcus Rashford were the remaining players to receive more than one vote.

In his debut season in the Premier League, the Manchester City forward scored 35 goals in 32 games.
