Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo reveals in ‘Horizonte’ what these meetings are like:
“I have only been once in 2014. I remember the date very well because Queen Sofía was there. Immediately after the meeting the abdication of the King took place. It is a personal and non-transferable invitation. It has a lot to do with the possibility that you have to explain plans that can to others. You are invited based on your adding value to others,” she explains.
“It is an informal meeting in which attendees can reproduce and repeat in the media the opinions that have been expressed without telling the person who said them. In my case it was about explaining that The Spanish economy had already overcome the consequences of the financial crisisa, that we were beginning to grow, that the recovery was immediate and that we deserved the confidence of the financial markets. The meeting was important because the most influential people in the world are there,” he says.
