Joel Embiid: ‘James Harden and I can’t win alone’ after 76ers knocked out by Celtics

The current winner of the MVP of the season in the NBA, Joel Embiid, was frustrated, after the elimination of the Philadelphia 76ers against the Boston Celtics in the seventh game of the Conference Semifinals.

Joel Embiid was a factor next to James Harden as the two leaders of the Sixers in the playoff series.

“James and I can’t win alone. That’s why basketball is played 5 on 5. We need everyone to find ways to be better.”pointed out the 76ers center.

The ‘Curse of the MVP’

Embiid he averaged 33.1 points per game during the regular season, but during the playoffs he lowered his average to 23.7.

Those of Philadelphia fell 4-3 in the series against the Celtics and Embiid extended a kind of curse that has fallen on the winners of the MVP of the season who cannot be crowned in the same season that they obtain the award; the last to do so was Stephen Curry in 2015 with the Warriors.
