It has already been announced that the Latvian hockey players beat the Danish national team 6:3 in the test match on Thursday, ending the cycle of preparatory games.

“There were a lot of positives in this game, but there were also moments when we started to panic and lost the game. We played the first third really well, we played aggressively and under control. It seemed that it would happen now, but in the second third it was the opposite – a lot of mistakes, a lot of unnecessary passes, which turned into his initiative,” said Daugavins in a conversation with the press service of the Latvian Hockey Federation.

The team captain stood out with three goals and an assist, but Abols was also accurate in this match.

“It’s always nice to stand out with a hat-trick. It’s such a bonus, but I’m more happy about my change. There were a lot of positive things, we worked on the majority, we tried to create those plays and find their chemistry. I’m happy for the victory,” Daugavins continued.

“It’s always nice to get confidence before the start. There will be hard and difficult work ahead. There are things that we want to leave from the test matches, but there are things that still need to be improved during the week,” he emphasized.
