Haría hosts the penultimate stop of badminton schools

The Lanzarote Raqueta Club organized last weekend the eighth day of badminton within the Insular Sports Promotion Games, being held on this occasion in the municipality of Haría with the presence of more than fifty players, among the Sub-categories. 15, Sub-17 and Sub-19.

In the men’s Under-15 category there were a total of ten participants, divided into two groups, to later go to the final round the best two of each of them. The champion would be Bruno Andrés Fernández after defeating the one from Guatiza by 15-7 against Jason Conti, an improvement player.

The female Under-15 category had a total of 18 players, divided into four groups, with the best two from each going to the final phase. Atenea Morales, a player who belongs to the Municipal School of Arrecife, prevailed in the final, by 15-11, against Martina Negrín, who competes in the improvement group.

The Under-17 category was also divided into male and female, with 9 athletes participating, both in the male and female categories. After passing the group stage, the final competition took place, where Adrián Carabali, who started as the seed, beat Sebastián Bisaro 15-9, leaving the man from Arrecife as seed number 2. For his part, the women’s competition was dominated by Ana Delgado from the north, who was seeded number one, winning in the final 15-10 against Ariadna Moreno, a player from Puerto del Carmen.

Both boys and girls competed in the Under-19 category in a league format, each of them playing a total of five games. Aritz Inchaurbe, who participates for the Municipal School of Arrecife, prevailed in the five matches played, occupying Daryl Lezcano, also from the school in the capital, the second position, with four victories.

The club also organized a special meeting between winners and winners of each of the categories and which was held using the league format. Adrián Carabali was the winner, achieving victory in all five matches played, while Aritz Inchaurbe achieved second position with four victories.

With this event, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club approaches the end of the season in terms of municipal schools in the Insular Sports Promotion Games, with one more day still to be played. Next Saturday, June 3, the last badminton concentration of the season will be held and it will take place in the Tinajo Municipal Pavilion. At the conclusion of the day, the trophies of the season of the municipal schools will be awarded.
