FC Bayern, rumor: Goretzka plans to stay in Munich

At Bayern, Leon Goretzka experienced a rather mixed season. Although the midfielder was on the field in most games, he was rarely able to really convince. FC Bayern therefore want to upgrade their position next summer, fueling speculation about the future of the 28-year-old.

According to information from Sport1 soll Goretzka have already made a decision. Despite the upcoming transfer of Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) and other potential newcomers in central midfield, the national player definitely wants to stay in Munich.

A departure would only be conceivable if coach Thomas Tuchel complained that he was no longer planning to work with the 28-year-old. According to the report, this has not yet happened. In general, there are no signs at Bayern that point to an imminent departure of Goretzka.

The midfielder still has a contract with FC Bayern until 2026. In the current season, Goretzka has made 39 appearances in competitive matches, in which he scored six goals and provided six more assists.

FC Bayern, News: Hamann is in favor of Stach instead of Rice

According to media reports, Declan Rice from West Ham United is said to be FC Bayern’s absolute dream player in the summer and should therefore definitely be guided to the Isar. Overall, however, the undertaking could prove difficult because the midfielder will probably not change clubs for less than 80 to 100 million euros. It is at least not entirely unlikely that Bayern will decline due to the high price tag.

SkyExpert Dietmar Hamann therefore brings up an alternative that is a little cheaper for the people of Munich. “Rice is definitely a player for Bayern, but too expensive,” said the 49-year-old THE. “I think Anton Stach from Mainz is very exciting. He’s a worker, not that well-known yet. In my opinion, Bayern have too many stars in the team and too few craftsmen. Stach would be one of them.”

The Mainz midfielder recently had a conversation with the Bildnewspaper outlined his plans to play internationally in the near future. “Conference League, Euro League, Champions League – that’s definitely an obvious goal for me. I would also like to take the next step in my career to play internationally,” said Stach. BVB is also considered a possible transfer target.

FC Bayern, News: Tuchel defends Kimmich

At the press conference before the last game of the season against 1. FC Köln, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel defended the choice of Joshua Kimmich as set piece for the German record champions. “The statistics say something different than the feeling of many. We are deeply involved, also because of Anthony Barry. As long as he says that Joshua will shoot the corners, that will be the case,” said Tuchel in the media round.

FC Bayern, Rumour: Interested in Benjamin Khaderi from PSV

FC Bayern is also said to have kept an eye on midfield jewel Benjamin Khaderi from Eredivisie top club PSV Eindhoven. The Bild reports that Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig are interested in the 15-year-old. In the process, it is said that the record champions have already observed Khaderi.

The teenager is considered a great talent in the Netherlands. In 2018 he moved to Eindhoven from VV Bennekom’s youth and is currently playing there for the U17s. Khaderi has been a Dutch U16 international since October 2022.

FC Bayern, News: Helmer criticizes Tuchel

Ex-national player Thomas Helmer has criticized Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel. “At first I found it almost reassuringly human that the team didn’t play better under him right away. But that he now presents himself and his helplessness in such a way as he did after the defeats against Mainz and now against Leipzig was – I find that very unfortunate again,” said Helmer Augsburg General.

Tuchel took over Munich in second place from Julian Nagelsmann in mid-March. But even after that, Bayern suffered bitter 3-1 defeats at FSV Mainz 05 at the end of April and against RB Leipzig last weekend. “It’s not good when a coach says he doesn’t know what to do anymore and has no more explanations,” said Helmer: “It’s another thing that he thinks that. After all, he’s also part of the team. Actually, it should put himself in front of his team.”

However, Helmer, who played for Bayern from 1992 to 1999, also looks in vain for an explanation for the poor performance: “If you remember some games from the first half of the season – the furious victories against Frankfurt or Leipzig – then you thought, you can already end the season. And when I now see what blatant mistakes Bayern made against Leipzig, it’s hard to believe that this is the same team.”

Before the last Bundesliga matchday on Saturday, Bayern is threatened with a season without a title. If table leaders Borussia Dortmund win against Mainz, he would be German champion. Bayern, who play at 1. FC Köln at the same time, are two points behind Dortmund.
