Godo still emerges unscathed from yet another weekend in which, at least in race 1, he tried in every way to complicate his life on his own.
Luckily though, the group seems more cohesive this year than in past seasons; this has once again allowed the boys in rossoblú to give each other a hand, hold on until the last inning and thus remedy the momentary debacle of one department, with excellent moments of play in the others. (Final: Godo 8 – Verona 6)
Life was easier in game 2, where an excellent tandem of pitchers (Piumatti and Rodriguez) kept the Scala clubs dry of points. Victory, in this case, was never in doubt. (Final: Godo 4 – Verona 0)
“We are one step away from a historic milestone for this team and for this club. If you still don’t know what it is, I’ll tell you if and when we’ll eventually reach it” jokes manager Naldoni after the end of the day.
“However, we must not distract ourselves from what is our goal for next weekend: to play every single inning of every damn game.”
And he continues: “I congratulate all my boys on how they are behaving, on and off the pitch. I am happy that they have begun to show character in recovering the uphill games. Now is the time to learn how to overcome them.”
What can I say, we fully share the grit of our head coach.
