Polynesian judokas have a future… The Polynesian selection shines in the France Espoirs championship with three titles and a bronze medal. A historical record.


The Polynesians are full of success in the France Espoirs championship, which is currently taking place in Metropolitan France. On Saturday May 20, the young judokas shone on the tatami by winning two gold medals and one bronze. In less than 44 kilos, Ambre Popoff won the title, as did Alexandre Souillard in the category over 90 kilos. Te umere Imihia won the bronze medal in the under 70 kilos category.

On Sunday, the young judokas of the Polynesian selection continued their good momentum. Imihia Teumere wins the title of champion of France Espoirs in -70kg.

On the other hand, Ambre Popoff (-44kg) loses on the future champion of France in 1/16 and Lola Snaider (-48kg) does not manage to get out of the pools.

The cadets therefore made the colors of Polynesia shine with a historic record: three titles, a bronze medal, a fifth place.

Next meeting for these young athletes: Auckland on July 8 and 9 to prepare for the 2023 Pacific Games!
