For its last, OL pays tribute to Jean-Michel Aulas, president for 36 years

Jean-Michel Aulas is living his last minutes at Groupama Stadium. The now ex-president of Olympique Lyonnais, at the head of the club for 36 years, attends the meeting between OL and Reims. A tribute was paid to him before the match, with several tifos designed especially to thank him. “Thank you for everything President. Eternal respect for a great man from Lyon”, can we read in particular around a banner showing Jean-Michel Aulas, a trophy in his hands.

A film recounting his long years of reign was shown on the stadium screens before kick-off. The supporters also held up signs that read “Thank you JMA”. What provoke the emotion of the former president, who could not contain his tears in the gallery of honor.

Jean-Michel Aulas then left his place to join the Bad Gones stand, where he watched the first half. He also brought happiness to his family since OL were leading 2-0 at half-time against Reims.

Earlier in the evening, a giant banner was hung at the entrance to Groupama Stadium, renaming the enclosure “Jean-Michel Aulas Stadium”. A splendid tribute to the man who brought the Rhone club to the fore, notably winning seven consecutive titles between 2002 and 2008.
