West Ham, seven times cheaper than Manchester United
Patience is not particularly the strong point of the Emirate in this type of operation, it now turns to threats. Indeed, according to the Spanish media El Pais, confirmed by the CaughtOffside site of Fabrizio Romano in particular, the Qatari businessman has the ambition to buy a Premier League club before the end of the year. And if it’s not Manchester United, who are slow to respond, it will be another team. The idea will thus be to look into the fate of West Ham, after being interested in Tottenham for a time. Lost time is therefore not for everyone, and Sheikh Jassim has targeted the London club for a possible operation. With their grassroots fervor and hunger to fight for trophies, the Hammers have an interesting profile, especially with their new 62,500-seat stadium.
The takeover of West Ham would not however be easy, knowing that the former residents of Upton Park belong to several investors, and in particular David Sullivan, majority shareholder with 51% of the shares and Welsh billionaire with hot blood after his past in pornography or the tabloid press. West Ham’s price, however, would be much more affordable for Qatar, who would have to shell out €1 billion to afford the Hammers in full, in estimated value. Far from the 7 billion euros envisaged to buy Manchester United.
