FFF: Philippe Diallo designated on Thursday as a candidate for the succession of Noël Le Graët until 2024?

This is one of the points that emerges from the agenda of the next executive committee of the French football federation scheduled for Thursday from 9:30 am at the headquarters of the body. The twelve members remaining since the resignations in February of Noël Le Graët, deposed president of the FFF, and of the president of the Paris League Jamel Sandjak, gather, in particular, to discuss the federal assembly of June 10, where the leaders of the amateur and professional football come together. With in particular the mission of electing a successor until December 2024, date of the expiry of the initial mandate, in Le Graët.

The Comex must therefore propose one or more names from among its ten elected members, the only ones entitled to replace NLG, since the presidents of the Amateur Football League, Vincent Nolorgues, and of the Amateur Football League, Vincent Labrune are members of right of Comex and non-eligible. And this government of the FFF plans to decide this Thursday, May 11 in the morning, just to give visibility to the voters of the federal assembly, according to several sources.

If the timing still raises questions, since this appointment could be postponed to the next executive committee on June 9, the identity of the Comex candidate is hardly in doubt. Former vice-president who has become interim number 1 since the departure of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo is a huge favorite. Especially since the former right arm of Breton has consolidated his place in recent weeks.

Jean-Michel Aulas should not go there

At the beginning of April, it was he who endorsed the choice of the new general manager of the FFF in the person of the lawyer Jean-François Vilotte, to replace Florence Hardouin, ousted in January. The same month, Philippe Diallo was elected to the executive committee of UEFA where France was no longer represented precisely since the departure of Hardouin. In short, Diallo has everything to go there, especially since the potential suitors are very few.

Marc Keller, often designated in the long term as a potential successor to Noël Le Graët, is still at the head of the Strasbourg club (Ligue 1) and cannot combine the two caps. Jean-Michel Aulas, pushed towards the exit of OL after 36 years of presidency on Monday, has the build. But the deadline comes too quickly for the former boss of Lyon, also invested in the file of the creation of a Women’s Professional League. Asked, several members do not believe in the Aulas option.

“It will be Philippe Diallo”, decide several members of the Comex. Another way: the Comex could recommend Thursday the candidacy of its interim president, before ratifying the thing once the two new members to succeed Sandjak and Le Graët in place. But again, the outcome would be the same.
