Deshaun Watson pide a DeAndre Hopkins para Browns

Hopkins, 30, was a three-time All-Pro wide receiver playing with Watson in Houston.

The quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watsonsaid Tuesday that he would “love” to have his former teammate with the Houston Texanswide receiver DeAndre Hopkinswith him in Cleveland.

The wide receiver of Pro Bowl was recently released by the Arizona Cardinalsopening the way for Hopkins join another club for the coming season.

During a charity golf tournament organized by the Browns, Watson suggested that it has informed the management of Cleveland that he would like the team to try to sign Hopkins.

“That’s out of my range of things,” he declared. Watson. “All I can do is make a call and see what happens.”

Hopkins30 years old, was a three-time wide receiver All-Pro playing with Watson in Houston. In 2020, their last season together, Hopkins he finished with 115 receptions for 1,407 yards and six touchdowns.

In his last two seasons with Arizona, Hopkins he had just 106 catches through 19 games. Several teams are expected to chase Hopkinsincluding other rivals of the AFC.

“I and D Hopnaturally we talked,” said Watson. “We’ve been talking since the days when Houston. …he has always been a brother of mine. … Our connection, our relationship has always been great. … Of course, we would love to have it. He knows that.”

In an interview last week on the “I Am Athlete” podcast with Brandon Marshall, Hopkins He said he’s looking for three things in a team at this stage of his career: a stable front office, a quarterback who “loves the game like I do” and a “great defense.”

“I’ll just say this, D Hop, DeAndre Hopkins I would love to be in a place where the opportunity is there for us to win,” he revealed. Watson this Tuesday. “We meet all of those requirements, and I think that in order for us to know and make sure that we meet all of those requirements at the national level, we need to go out there and prove it, and I think that D Hop I would love to be a part of that.”

El head coach Kevin Stefanski declined to comment on the team’s interest in Hopkinsnoting that he was pleased with some of his off-season additions.

“I really like our wide receiver group,” he said. Stefanski. “I love the boys that are here [El gerente general] Andrew [Berry] and his group are always looking for all avenues and that kind of thing, so I won’t comment specifically on any player, other than to say that I really like our squad.”
