The BBC (Blagnac Badminton Club) is organising, from Thursday May 18 to Saturday May 20, the 9th edition of its tournament, at the Saint-Exupéry and Weidknnet gymnasiums. A large-scale event according to Arnold Matet, the president of the association: “More than 500 participants will flock during these three days, including 180 beyond Haute-Garonne and 80 beyond Occitanie. It is open to all levels, from unclassified to series 1, i.e. the 30th girls and boys at the French level”.

And he recalls the organization put in place for the smooth running of the event: “We have 14 pitches, with as many associated referees. Thursday will be dedicated to the men’s and women’s singles table, Friday to the mixed events, and on Saturday for men’s and women’s doubloons. The welcome will be particularly cared for, with catering on site”.

This tournament comes at the end of the season of the club’s flag team, currently in D3. “We participated in the play-offs for access to D2, in the final tournament with Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble and Caen, explains Arnold Matet. We beat the first two, but lost against Caen, and the climb thus escaped”.

A postponed accession, but strong of the largest parabad section in France (12 members) and 85 members of the club’s youth section, the association can look to the future with confidence.
