Baseball, Serie C: Trento’s feat against San Martino

Trento – The formation of Trento Baseball which plays in the national championship of series C has succeeded in the great enterprise, that is to beat the opponents of the San Martino Buon Albergo (Verona). A team, that of Verona, which until last year could have the luxury of beating the Trentino players with clear superiority.

This was not the case in the championship match played last Sunday, when the Trentino players showed strong nerves and mastery of the game right from the first inning, so much so as to keep their opponents zero and then bring home two very important points which allowed them to control the match to the end.

During the match, the opponents in black and white jackets again brought the game to a draw, only to see the Trentino team extend by one point again. Forced to suffer the game of the Trentino team, the Venetians soon began to give in to nervousness, despite the further point scored which brought the match back to level.

Heart-pounding last innings, with the good wolves who were able to hold the reins of the game firmly, making San Martino close to zero even in the last phase of the game.

Thus, having reached the end of the regulation innings, the Trentino players, strengthened by the result on 3 to 3 and the fact that they were on the attack at that moment, placed the winning paw with Filippo “Pippo” Lacchin who gave the decisive point to the Trentino team , who thus closed the game with a beautiful 4 to 3.

Now, after two consecutive successes, the Trentino side are in second place in the group standings, together with the San Martino Buon Albergo team and preceded by the strong opponents of Ceppo di Vicenza.

Next Sunday they will play again at home, against the Polisportiva Azzurra of Villafranca. For the wolves the possibility of increasing the positive series and consolidating the second place in the standings.
