A balanced and beautiful regional final of the CONI trophy took place in the gymnasium of the “Montessori” of Alba, the confrontation between Alba Shuttle Badminton and ASD “Il Punto” of Turin. The confrontation saw the Albesi win 2-1 and thus snatch the ticket for the national final, which will take place in September in Basilicata. In the initial match, the first point was won by Torino in the men’s singles, Lagasio Alessandro deservedly defeated Molino Matteo from Alba on 11-8/11/6, who tried courageously to counter his opponent’s regularity.
In the women’s singles Alba equalized with the brilliant victory of Ferrero Nicoletta over Laguzzi Valeria 11-4/11-4. In the spectacular play-off match of the mixed doubles Alba wins 11-2/11-7 by fielding the very strong duo Cirio Carolina and Vignola Francesco who prevailed over Cacciandra Alice and Cacciandra Davide. In the promotional tournament that took place simultaneously, excellent performances in the under 15 females for Sara Ababei, and in the under 15 males for Sorrenti Riccardo and Micca Alessandro. Finally, in the under 13 category, Roopak Leonardo, Ronco Pietro and Grimaldi Francesco expressed great potential.
