BVB, News: Borussia Dortmund signs Ecuadorian talent
Champions League finalist Borussia Dortmund has signed young Ecuadorian talent Justin Lerma. As BVB announced on Monday, the 16-year-old midfielder will come to Westphalia from the first division club Independiente del Valle after turning 18. Lerma will not join Borussia until the 2026/27 season.
“We have been watching Justin for a long time and have been in close contact with the player and his family since then,” said Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl: “Justin is one of the best South American players of his year, and we are pleased to see him as an outstanding talent for Borussia Dortmund to be able to win.”
BVB did not provide any information about the length of the contract. Lerma made his debut for Independiente in the first division in mid-April at the age of 15. On Sunday, the offensive player was in the starting line-up in his second appearance. Lerma will continue to develop in Ecuador until his final move to Germany.
