Ana Luiza Cazarin is the new coach of the Brazilian Flag Football Team

The Brazilian Confederation of American Football (CBFA) announced this week that Ana Luiza Cazarin will assume the technical command of the Brazilian National Flag Football Team. The professional has been the Offensive coordinator of Brazil Onças Feminino since 2019 and has been attending Onças Feminino since 2016, when she made her debut as an athlete in the Qualifiers for the World Cup in Panama.

Ana Luiza Cazarin’s first challenge ahead of Brasil Onças will be the IFAF Americas Continental Flag Football Championship, which takes place in July, in Charlotte, USA. The tournament qualifies for the World Cup in the modality to be held in Finland next year.

Cazarin took over offensive coordination in 2019, just before the cycle of the Danish World Cup that would have been played in 2020, but was canceled because of the covid-19 pandemic. She continued with the team at the World Cup in Israel and at the World Games in the United States, in addition to the South American Championship, held at the end of last year in Brazil.

– I take on the challenge with great excitement. The Women’s National Team project is something we’ve been working on with a lot of focus since the beginning with Vic. Being at the head of this team now will continue to be very rewarding – commented Ana Luiza Cazarin.

She takes over from Victoria Guglielmo, who is the coach after more than ten years dedicated to the growth of women’s flag football in Brazil.

– It’s been ten years in the project, so there’s no way to say that I won’t miss it, but I’ll always remain close to our national team. Following as I can and cheering too – said Victoria Guglielmo.

– I close this cycle with great gratitude. These were challenging years ahead of a strong project like the Women’s National Team, but I know that new eras need to arrive and other people will follow our legacy. And nothing better than Caza, Guidi and Bea to follow this story-she added.

Beatriz Baptista takes over as Offensive Coordinator

Until then Assistant Offensive of Brazil Onças de Flag Feminino, Bea (as she is known) arrived in the Selection in 2022 and was on the sideline of the South American of the modality – won by Brazil last December. Bea has been playing since 2017 as a wide receiver for Caniballs Football Club, where she also serves as offensive coordinator for the men’s 5×5 flag team.

The offensive coordination of Brasil Onças remains in the hands of Ingrid Camargo.
