Alaquàs recognizes athlete Iris Muñoz Ruiz, bronze medalist in the Children’s Judo Championship

The Mayor of Alaquàs, Toni Saura, and the Councilor for Sports, Fran Evangelista, received the athlete from Alaquas, Iris Muñoz Ruiz, yesterday, Monday May 15, to congratulate her on having achieved outstanding successes this season.

The mayor congratulated her for her “effort and dedication” and stressed the importance of recognizing this merit that “serves as an example for the young population to follow due to the values ​​of effort, sacrifice and discipline that it entails.” He also appreciated the effort and support made by the family and the dedication it entails. In the act she was presented with a painting in memory of this tribute.

Iris is 14 years old and studies at the Mare de Déu de l’Olivar II school. She started in this sport 5 years ago and since then she has achieved outstanding successes. Last February she won the Bronze Medal in the Autonomous Children’s Judo Championship held in Valencia. Her perseverance and her daily training have led her to take other important awards such as the Silver Medal in the Children’s Interprovincial Championship held on April 1 in Valencia as well as the Gold Medal in the Vila Real Cup held on March 25th. Titles that show her commitment to the sport, her effort and perseverance. On May 28 she will participate in the Valencian Community Cup, for which she has many possibilities because she is between the third and fourth classification by score and on June 4 she will be part of a national tournament to be held to Madrid.
