2022-23 End of Season Greetings | Kumamoto Volters

Thank you for always supporting Kumamoto Volters.

Following the results of the “Nippon Life Insurance B2 PLAYOFFS QUARTERFINALS 2022-23” match against Nagasaki Verca on May 6th (Sat), the entire schedule for this season has come to an end.

Everyone at VOLTERS RED, who have been supporting the team throughout the season and have supported the team in good times and bad, partners, shareholders, volunteer staff, Kumamoto Basketball Association, Kumamoto Prefectural General Gymnasium, and government officials. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have been involved in the Volters. thank you.

This season, we set the goal of “promotion to B1”, but we were not able to achieve that goal, which was a very frustrating result. First of all, I’m going to look back at this season, reflect, and prepare for the next season.

About 500 people filled the Sasebo Gymnasium, which was the playoff venue, in red with the loud cheers of the Wolters boosters. It was something that made me realize the strong feelings that participated.
It is precisely because of this great support that the players who were covered in wounds were able to fight so fiercely. They were moved by everyone’s voices, and they were able to forget the pain of the injury and face the end with a strong sense of unity as a team.
The tears shed by the professional players after the match were full of frustration and apology for not being able to repay their kindness.

At the same time, a new management team was appointed in July 2022, and HC Toyama was appointed in August, and the team and club management have restarted. Thank you very much for your continued support.
We will not forget that we are here now thanks to the support of Wolters and everyone who cares about the future of the children and Kumamoto, and we will continue to work on building the foundation of the club with a sense of urgency and responsibility.

Thanks to your support, we expect to recover to a record high of 450 million yen in sales this season. The average number of spectators was 1,710, ranking 3rd overall for B2. The paid audience rate was 84%, ranking second in the entire B League (including B1 and B2).
On the other hand, the deficit is expected to be around 150 million yen. In this regard, since January, we have been able to get out of the crisis with the cooperation of our former shareholders and the relief support from the Nishikawa Group.
In the future, we will further improve the foundation that has been prepared and grow into a club that can sustainably develop.

This season, the 10th anniversary of the club’s founding, has come to an end, and next season will be a new step in the 11th year.
We would like to ask for your continued support for the Kumamoto Volters.
