On the 4th, Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun visited Yeoul Park, one of the planned sites for the ‘Botanic Garden Hwaseong’, and inspected the current status of its creation.

‘Botanic Garden Hwaseong’ is one of the key pledges of the 8th civil election of Hwaseong City, including Yeoul Park, Banseoksan Mountain, Jaramo Park, Osancheon Stream, and Our Flower Botanical Garden. It is a project to create a green space where citizens can relax and enjoy.

In the Yeoul Park area, one of the planned sites for the ‘Botanic Garden Hwaseong’, an exhibition greenhouse, a ground center, and an international artists’ garden will be created.

The exhibition greenhouse has a total floor area of 8,000㎡ and is capable of displaying plants in various climatic zones and viewing all four seasons.

In addition, the ground center has an exhibition space, a small library, a community center, and a cafeteria on the first basement floor and the second floor, providing citizens with a variety of cultural spaces.

After touring the exhibition greenhouse and the planned construction site of the ground center, Mayor Chung requested that the public make every effort to ensure that the schedule is not disrupted as the citizens’ expectations for the ‘Botanic Garden Hwaseong’ are high.

The city of Hwaseong mentioned that it will actively collect citizens’ opinions through the ‘Botanic Garden Hwaseong Citizen Participation Group’ to create a botanical garden that enhances the satisfaction of end users.

“World-class luxury cities have well-developed green spaces such as parks and gardens in the city center,” said Mayor Jeong, expressing his will to “make Hwaseong a world-class luxury city and eco-friendly eco-cultural city through the creation of a botanical garden.”

Meanwhile, Mayor Jeong also visited the indoor badminton court built in Osan-dong and toured the facility. The indoor badminton court has 20 courts on the first basement floor and two floors above the ground, and is scheduled to officially open in July.
