The fifth edition of the Games of the ALBA it ended with Venezuela as the undisputed champion with 735 medals, 541 more than its closest rival Cuba.
The joust, which was held from April 21 to 29 between Caracas, La Guaira and Miranda, is the second in history that is dominated by Venezuelans. Before they could only achieve it in the 2007 edition with a total of 566 medals.

On this occasion the group, led by the pole vaulter Robeilys Peinado and the boxer Yoel Finol, added:
- 255 gold
- 254 payment
- 226 bronze
Venezuela was champion in 26 of the 33 disciplines that were disputed. Second only to:
- Cuba in women’s softball, men’s volleyball, athletics and judo
- And Russia in table tennis, beach volleyball and gymnastics
