Tigres defeats León 2-1 in semifinal

Tigres de la UANL came back from a goal down and beat León 2-1 in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League semifinal.

Sebastián Córdova and Colombian Luis Quiñones scored the winning goals for Tigres, after Chilean Víctor Dávila put León ahead.

At the Universitario stadium, the visiting team took the lead after six minutes, when Chilean Víctor Dávila put the ball into the left corner with a shot from outside the area. Tigres equalized after 45 minutes with a shot by Sebastián Córdova in the six-yard box after a cross from Colombian Quiñones, who two minutes later scored the home team’s second goal with a volley shot after a pass from Brazilian Samir Caetano.

The series will be defined on May 3 at the Nou Camp de León stadium.

In the other semifinal, the American clubs Philadelphia Union and Los Angeles will meet today in the first leg. The key will be defined on May 2 at the BMO stadium in Los Angeles.
