Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do Paralympic Games Decision Ceremony “Decision to Win”: News Spot

On the afternoon of April 7, Seongnam City held a ceremony for Seongnam athletes to participate in the ’13th Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for the Disabled’ at Seongnam Sports Center Multipurpose Gymnasium in Seongnam-dong, Jungwon-gu.

Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin and others attended the ceremony to encourage the 300 players (50 executives, 36 coaches, 33 guardians, 181 players), and oaths were also held for the players to pledge their determination to win.

The Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for the Disabled will be held at 17 stadiums in Seongnam, including Seongnam Sports Complex and Tancheon Sports Complex, from April 27 to 30.

About 4,000 players from 31 cities and counties in the province will participate in fierce competitions in 17 events, including gateball, basketball, billiards, and dance sports.

Seongnam City players who will be playing the game include prominent medalists such as Yoon Ji-yu (table tennis), Park Min-jae (badminton), Kim Taek-han and Choi Seon-kyung (bowling).

The goal of the Seongnam team is to win the overall championship.

Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, “I hope for good performances in all games,” and asked the athletes to pay attention so that the tournament can be held without accidents or major injuries.

In Seongnam, the ’69th Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival’ will be held from May 11th to 13th.

About 11,000 athletes from 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province participate in 27 sports, including track and field, swimming, soccer, and tennis.

On April 6, Seongnam City commissioned 6 athletes, including Choi Min-jeong (Seongnam City Work Department, Short Track), as public relations ambassadors for the Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival.

In addition to Choi, Jiyu Yoon (Seongnam City Work Department, Table Tennis for the Disabled), Youngkwang Kim (Seongnam Citizen Professional Soccer Team, goalkeeper), Hong Soo-Hwan (Athlete, Boxing), Yoonchang Jang (Athlete, Volleyball), and Jaebak Kim (Athlete, Baseball) were appointed as public relations ambassadors.

They appear in promotional materials for the competition and do social media promotion activities.
